Electra Rewinding Services was established in 1993.

The founder, inspired by the craftsmanship of his late father (an artisan in the Metrorail Electric Running Sheds E.R.S Salt River), wished to retain the legacy of the old Salt River Depot. He aptly named the company Electra Rewinding Services or “ERS”.

In 2015 the company was wholly purchased by the now owners. Remarkably they too have their roots firmly planted at the ERS Salt River Depot. Starting as trade hands & general workers to their fathers newly established rolling stock refurbishment business as early as 1997. With them they brought a wealth of knowledge in the areas of business management, industry experience and several key staff members whom would see the company grow to its current stature.
